Switzerland forward Josip Drmic scored twice as Bayer Leverkusen moved up to third in the Bundesliga with an easy win over bottom club Stuttgart.
Brazilian defender Wendell opened the scoring before Drmic got his first of the night, heading past Sven Ulreich.
Karim Bellarabi and Drmic struck again as Bayer wrapped the game up after half-time, scoring twice in 15 minutes.
Stuttgart are five points from safety and three points from 16th and a place in the relegation play-offs.
The 2007 Bundesliga champions have been relegated from the top flight just once before, in 1975.
Bayer now sit one point above Borussia Monchengladbach but still trail second-placed Wolfsburg by eight points and leaders Bayern Munich by 19 points.
